Hello Indivisibles: You did it!!! We did it!!!! What a night! Our movement was made visible at the ballot box yesterday. We have indeed “changed the political weather,” as Ezra Levin, the co-leader of Indivisible says.
And thank you to our Poll Observers who were part of a nationwide wall to prevent any direct interference with the actual vote. The Administration knew that they could not get away with anything like seizing ballots before they were counted. We were watching. We were ready.
Strong control of the US Senate. Amazing numbers in the US House! And still counting a few. It was truly an amazing Blue tsunami!
Texas? Texas? Texas!! We took Texas! And Kansas!! Whaaat?
I have had nowhere near enough sleep to write a coherent email. But I wanted to share a couple of random thoughts.
The new and returning talent in the Senate is fantastic. Just amazing people. People like Cooper, Ossoff, Hamilton, Talarico and more, will bring a whole new focus to the Senate. Hope. Real solutions. Government that works FOR the People.
Trump broke America.
Then Trump broke the Republican Party.
Now we have broken Trump.
Now we have the opportunity and responsibility to build a new America that is once again “Of the People, By the People, For the People”.
The big money and big tech must contribute to our society, instead of just bleeding it dry. Government must be designed to promote the well-being of the people, not the well-being of Wall Street and big business. Working people must once again be given the opportunity to prosper, not just survive.
Yesterday, the voters realized that they had not elected a “very stable genius”.
Instead, he was just another version of their weird Uncle Earl.
You know, the one no one wants to sit next to at Thanksgiving dinner.
The one you have to make sure is never left alone with any of the children.
The one who should never be trusted with the keys to the Buick.
And they took steps to correct their mistake.
You made this victory happen. We all worked so hard. We were part of a massive grassroots movement that worked to ensure a check on the President would be big enough to be unchallengeable. Well done! Brilliant!

What happens now? What is still making us so angry we can’t sleep? How do we use our power to effect real change going forward? What matters most to you? And how incredibly happy are we to have demonstrated that the real power in America is We the People!!!! It’s time to party!
