7/6/26. VT Indivisible Digest

Hello Indivisibles: Attached: latest VT Indivisible Digest 6/27-7/14, eNews for VT Indivisible groups. A few Parade photos are here.

I hope you all had an amazing Fourth of July!!!  It seems it was impossible to miss being in a celebration somewhere.  What an inspiring reminder of how wonderful our Democracy is! Indivisible Champlain Islands had a superlative entry in the South Hero Parade on the Fourth!  There were over 30 of you Indivisibles marching with banners, and flags. There was a giant “Happy Birthday America” card for spectators to sign. There were flags, and bikes, and dogs, and a decorated truck!  There was music. Everyone had so much fun.  And the response from the crowd was incredible – people clapped and stood up and cheered as our group went by.  They thanked us for what we are doing. And, hopefully, some will even decide it is time to join us.  We have about 500 members here in the Islands, so far.  That’s amazing, but we will need even more to defend the election and election results in November.

This was a great way to let people know about us and how they can help.

Here is part of an email sent out by Lu, one of our Parade Team organizers: “Thank you all for the various emails sharing your excitement and photos about yesterday.  It was such a fun day and the response to ICI was terrific!   The best part was the collaboration — how we all came together to make it a special day and to elevate the work of ICI. Everyone contributed in wonderful ways. Mary had the good idea to place the ICI banner at the front so people would learn about ICI’s work, followed by Tony’s wonderfully decorated truck, then the “Stand for the Constitution” banner, then the marchers and bikers and the Happy Birthday America cards, with the “Democracy Over Dictatorship” banner bringing up the rear. People along the parade route cheered when they saw our group.”

I want to send out a huge “THANK YOU” to all of the people who worked so hard on the Parade Team, to organize this event:  Lu, Louise, Tony, Sharyn, Doug and Tom.  I think there may have been some others that do not know about.  They did an incredible job!  And we also have to thank all of the Indivisible members who came out to march in the Parade!!  They carried banners, handed out information cards about Indivisible Champlain Islands, danced, sang, laughed, waved, and chatted with people in the crowd.  Thanks, you all!!  You nailed it!

And we also need to thank Champlain Valley Indivisible for loaning us the huge “Stand For The Constitution” banner – again!  It is mammoth and it really makes a statement.  It is very generous of them to share it with us.

Thanks again to all who turned out.Happy Birthday America! Marilyn Lagrow
