Hello Indivisibles,

The President is having a very bad week.  He is discovering that all of those Republicans that he has primaried out of their seats in Congress still have 7 more months left to serve.  And now they don’t have any reason to pretend to be MAGA instead of Republicans.  And they are voting against the President’s coveted projects.  Like a $1 Billion for security for a ballroom, and for completely unqualified candidates to head national security, etc. and for the War in Iran, and for a $1,776 Billion dollar fund to pay criminals who support him, etc, etc.  And he really wants the War in Iran, that he started against the advice of everyone (except Netanyahu and Hegseth), to be over, but Iran is not inclined to make concessions.  So a bad week for him.  Of course, it is a bad week for Americans as well, as we suffer the effects of his ill-conceived policies.

So, now, more than ever, it is time for us to increase the pressure on this regime.  Time to take to the streets.  Time to call our MOC again and increase the momentum to strip power from the executive branch.  Time to support the organizations who are filing lawsuits against the government and winning.

Indivisible Champlain Islands: Friday Honk and Waves

Start by coming out tomorrow (Friday) to the ‘Defend Democracy’ protest in South Hero at 4:00.

The organizers, Berney and John, have asked me to share this message from them:

At a recent debate between candidates for governor, one contender began by
saying how close to despair she has been due to the crisis we are facing in our
amazing democracy. But she has come to realize, ”the way to combat despair is
with action”. John and I feel the same way. When we are at our weekly Honk
and Waves, we feel uplifted as we chat with others who feel the same way. We
laugh, we talk, we wave and sing along to great music…. cars pass by and we see
so many “thumbs up’. We hear the honks of support and we laugh at the fewer
and fewer “thumbs down”.
Please put your sadness aside and join us as we push back against the
“madman”. Bring your own sign to share your feelings or choose one of ours to
use.

Friday Afternoons: 4-5pm. South Hero, US Rt 2 between Worthen Library and Two Heroes
Berney and John Skutel.

Meeting June 14, N Hero

Then plan to come to our next Members Meeting/Public Open House on Sunday, June 14th, at the North Hero Community Hall from 2:00 to 4:00 to hear Vermont Secretary of State, Sarah Copeland Hanzas.  She will talk about election security and potential threats and changes proposed by the Federal Government.  Find out why Vermont’s elections are so safe and the vote count is so accurate.  Ask your questions.  Get answers.  Find out how you can protect the vote in Vermont AND across the country in the upcoming Midterms in November.

WE STILL NEED A FEW PEOPLE TO BRING COOKIES, BROWNIES OR OTHER TREATS TO THE EVENT ON JUNE 14.  Please contact Andrea at
