8/13/26. Fridays–Honk&Wave for Democracy; Canadian+USA flag display; Donations matched!

Hello Indivisibles: FRIDAY DEFEND DEMOCRACY Action. Plan to join with fellow Indivisibles tomorrow (Friday) in South Hero near the Worthen Library from 4:00 to 5:00, for our every Friday Protest against the aggressions of the Trump Anti-Democracy regime. The Administration is just getting worse, folks.  But we are just getting stronger.

Here is a message from Berney and John, the leaders of this every Friday event:

Calling All Lovers of Our Democracy.

We have seen our Democracy in action. We have exercised our right to vote.

Now it is again time to take to the streets and demand that our current President respect the rule of law. We will continue to demand that he respect our Constitution. We will not allow him to become the dictator that he wants to be.  We will not allow him to disrupt the Midterm Elections.

John and I are looking forward to our weekly Honk and Wave. We will be at our usual place between the Worthen Library and Two Heroes Brewery.

Also available at the Friday Defend Democracy protest:  You can pick up a pair of US/Canadian flags to display at the end of your driveway (or wherever they are visible from the road). New 50% tariffs on many Canadian goods are due to go into effect on Aug. 19, unless Canada bows to US demands.  If you think that is a bad way to treat an ally and neighbor, then fly both flags, side-by-side, to show your friendship with Canada.

On the horizon:  We hear you.  You would like additional times and locations for protesting.  So, we are planning to hold Saturday protests in September in Alburgh.  Stay tuned for details.

We are always anxious to hear your suggestions.  Don’t hesitate to send them along.

AUGUST DONATION MATCH

We have a limited-time opportunity from the National Indivisible organization.  They will match any donation made to Indivisible Champlain Islands through our website (via ActBlue) during the month of AUGUST only.

We are currently planning our actions focused on flipping the US House and US Senate, to curb the unlimited power of this Administration.  Our actions (Islander Ads, protests, possible event(s), handouts, etc) will require some funds.  So, if you think you will be able to pitch in to help with that, please consider making a donation before the end of August.  Your donation will be doubled!

Thank you for joining in the work to make a country where the government acts to improve the lives of its citizens, not a country that only values big business and big profits.

Standing together … see you tomorrow.

Marilyn Lagrow
