Hello Indivisibles,
We need some people to help us on new teams we are forming. They are very different, so pick your preference!
JULY 4TH PARADES:
We are planning to participate in both the South Hero and the Alburgh Fourth of July Parades this year. Our entry in last year’s South Hero Parade was just a start to finish fun time. What a blast! And we got tremendous exposure and positive response from the people lining the Parade route. We gave out hundreds of cards with our email/website addresses and chatted with dozens of people who wanted to know more about Indivisible. So we want to build on that success again this year.
We need two teams to plan, design, and build an entry and to march in the two parades. You can choose to be on the plan-design-build portion or just the marching portion, or both! And choose which Parade you want to work on.
We already have Leaders in place for the Alburgh Team. They need recruits to help them carry out their plans and march in the Parade.
We have someone willing to Co-Lead the South Hero effort, so we still need someone willing to be the other Co-lead for South Hero. And they will need recruits for the plan-design-build and march team!
This is one of our biggest exposure events of the year. Please consider stepping up to participate on one of these Teams. Email Andrea at to sign up, and let her know what Team you are signing up for. Also let us know if you are willing to be a Leader on the Team.
DEFEND THE VOTE/ GET OUT THE VOTE:
We know that the Maga regime is working night and day to prevent a free and fair election at the Midterms – because they know they will lose their grip on power if they don’t rig the election somehow. Our job is to stop them and make sure that every American’s right to vote, and have their vote counted, is protected. We also need to make sure that people come out to vote and vote against the MOC who are enabling the fascist takeover of our country and the destruction of our economy. This is our number one priority leading up to the Midterms.
So, we are forming a new Team to focus on ways to Defend the Vote and Get Out the Vote.
Historically, far fewer eligible American voters exercise their right to vote in Midterm elections than in a Presidential election year. This needs to change in this election year! We believe the most impactful action our members can take this year in our mission to save our democracy is to help get out the vote. Our intention is to not promote any particular candidate, but rather to promote, encourage, and facilitate voting. We have members who are already engaged in these efforts through post carding, but there is so much more we can do, including by phone and email, through flyers and newsletters, and in person. The Team would be tasked with brainstorming ideas, coordinating with other organizations who share our mission, and rolling out and communicating action opportunities to our members.
Please consider stepping up to join this team and contribute your ideas and talents to this most impactful effort. Indivisible Champlain Islands members are aching for more ways to have meaningful impacts and you can help provide the ideas for them to take action.
