Down to the wire – 25 Days to the Midterm Elections! One week to NO KINGS VoteFest!
Please read this week’s Indivisible Champlain Islands Newsletter – it is loaded.
Please note these important items in the Newsletter:
– Plan to attend the Friday Defend Democracy protest tomorrow by the Worthen Library in South Hero at 4:00.
– Sign-making session for No Kings is on Tuesday, Oct. 13, at 5:00 at the Grand Isle Fire Station Conference Room. See the newsletter for details. Sign up or just show up and join the fun!
– We still need a few volunteers for the Poll Observer shifts on Nov. 3. Grand Isle, North Hero and Alburgh are still short. Two hour shifts outside. See details and sign up info in the Newsletter.
– We need a few volunteers on Oct. 17 for the NO KINGS VoteFest. If you can help with parking duties, directing people from the Rally out front to the VoteFest in the Library, or a couple of other tasks, starting around 2:00that day, please let us know at .
– There are only a few days left until the Elections. Now is the time to choose how you can help drive the largest voter turnout in the history of the Midterms! We need everyone to participate. There are multiple ways to make a difference listed in the Newsletter. Pick what works best for you. But DO Something! There is not a moment to lose. We must not let this opportunity to take control of the Congress slip away.
Be sure to make your plans to attend the NO KINGS Vote Fest on Saturday Oct 17!!! Be part of the next NO KINGS nationwide day of action. There are already over 3,000 events scheduled across the country. Millions of people will participate. Locally, we will have a loud, bold rally defending our right to vote and encouraging ALL eligible voters to cast their ballot. We will follow that with a Celebration of all things Voting, inside the lower level of the Worthen Library. See you there!!
Other items:
I’m sure you have heard about the Week of Action against ICE, happening in Williston. It is making the evening news most nights. We are not part of the group that is organizing this, but you can find information about it on our Website (IndivisibleCI.org) if you want to participate or find out more.
SCAM ALERT:
On the What’s The Plan call this afternoon, I learned about a nasty scam run by Elon Musk.
He has started a new website called ‘VoteSafe.org’. DO NOT GO TO THIS SITE. He is using it to steal people’s personal voter information. It is not a legitimate voter site. He does not plan to use your information for a good purpose. Do not let him have your information.
Together we can “change the political weather”. We can have a government designed to let people prosper, not just billionaires.
